Vol. 331 No. 6

Written Answers - Social Welfare Payments.

572.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if she will arrange for an invalidity pension to be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

An invalidity pension payable from 10 December 1981 has been awarded to the person concerned. The pension book has been forwarded to the designated post office of payment for collection by him.

573.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if she will arrange for unemployment assistance at the full rate to be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person concerned is at present in receipt of unemployment assistance at the weekly rate of £32.70 being the maximum rate of £51.70 less means of £19.00. He requested a review of his means last July but, despite several efforts by the social welfare officer to arrange an interview with him in connection with his request, the person concerned has not made himself available for interview. A reinvestigation of the claimant's means must be carried out before the rate of unemployment assistance payable in his case can be reviewed.
