Vol. 331 No. 11

Written Answers. - School Transport.

104.

asked the Minister for Education if he will arrange for a free school bus ticket to be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he is aware that this student's brothers and sisters were granted such tickets in the past by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This pupil resides in the catchment area of Spiddal-Inverin and transport is available to that centre. It is not possible to accommodate him at present on the service to Galway city as all the existing accommodation on that service is already taken up. As vacancies become available on the transport service the pupil in question may well be accommodated.

asked the Minister for Education if he will provide free school transport to Cashel national school, Connemara, County Galway, for the ten pupils who reside in the Banahown area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of providing a free school transport service to Cashel national school, Connemara, County Galway, from the Banahown area is under active investigation by my Department and a decision can be expected at an early date.
