The proposals for this scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for water and sewerage schemes and the number of such schemes in progress or getting to construction at the present time for which adequate finance must be provided, including the following schemes in the North Cork area: Charleville Sewerage; Mitchelstown Sewerage; Mallow Main Drainage; Boherbue Water Supply Augmentation; Conna Regional Water Supply; Mountnorth Water Supply.
I am not yet in a position to say when approval may issue to the local authority or when work may commence on the proposed Fermoy sewerage scheme revised contract documents for which are under consideration in my Department.
