Vol. 331 No. 12

Written Answers. - Blackrock (Dublin) Road.

399.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the danger to pedestrians and motorists in Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, County Dublin, and the action, if any, he intends to take to widen this excessively narrow avenue.

Responsibility for the planning, execution and timing of works on the road in question, which is not a national road, rests with Dún Laoghaire Corporation and Dublin County Council, who are the road authorities concerned. In accordance with normal practice, the cost of any improvement works would fall to be met from the local authorities' own resources supplemented by the general block grants allocated annually by my Department, and the sanction of the Minister does not arise.
