asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the new post-primary school at Kilnamanagh Estate, Tallaght, County Dublin.

A site for a new post-primary school at Kilnamanagh Estate, Tallaght, County Dublin has been acquired by my Department. The architectural planning of the project is under way.

asked the Minister for Education his Department's plans for the provision of a new vocational school at Castlerea, County Roscommon.

andMr. Leyden asked the Minister for Education if he will make money available for the provision of a new vocational school at Castlerea, County Roscommon.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together.

The request from County Roscommon Vocational Education Committee for a new vocational school building in Castlerea is under consideration in my Department at present in the context of the overall future provision to be made for second-level education in the town. A decision will be conveyed to the Committee as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the provision of the proposed new second level school at Kells, County Meath.

A community school to cater for 500 boys will be provided at Kells. Consultants have been appointed and the planning of the new building has been initiated.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the provision of the new vocational school at Nobber, County Meath.

The position is that a developed sketch scheme for the proposed new vocational school at Nobber, County Meath, was received within the last few days from the County Meath Vocational Education Committee. The scheme, which includes detailed drawings, specifications and costings, is at present being examined by my Department's building unit. It will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in sanctioning tenders for the extension of the presentation convent secondary school, Dungarvan, County Waterford; and when sanction will be given.

The examination of the tender documentation in relation to the extension to the presentation secondary school, Dungarvan, has now been completed. A letter will issue shortly to the school manager approving the recommended tender and sanctioning the commencement of work on the project.

There has not been any avoidable delay in processing the tender for the extension to the presentation convent school, Dungarvan, County Waterford. Following the receipt of additional documentation from the manager, examination of the lowest suitable tender is nearing completion. It is hoped to communicate with the manager in the matter in the near future.
