Vol. 333 No. 8

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Houses.

950.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the site subsidies under the small builders scheme will be paid to the persons who purchased houses in Ashwood Estate, Clondalkin, County Dublin.

A subsidy is paid by my Department to housing authorities towards the annual loan charges incurred in the provision by the authorities of sites for private houses for certain eligible categories of purchasers. The value of the subsidy, currently a maximum of £500, is then passed on to the purchaser by the housing authority by way of reduction in the sale price of the site. I understand from Dublin County Council that the development of Ashwood Estate, Clondalkin, is not yet fully completed. The council will, in due course, re-imburse eligible persons the value of the subsidy.

951.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of persons who bought houses in Ashwood Estate, Clondalkin, County Dublin who are entitled to supplementary grants; and when these grants will be paid.

As questions relating to eligibility for and payment of supplementary grants in individual cases are matters entirely within the discretion of the local housing authority and in which I have no functions, the information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department.
