Mr. Treacy

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the inordinate delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary who applied in March 1980; and when it is intended to pay this grant.

The applicant in this case did not receive the payable order for £1,000 which was issued to him on 30 October 1980. The payable order was cancelled but it was subsequently returned to the Department. A replacement order will issue to the applicant shortly.

968.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in view of the extenuating circumstances of which his Department is aware when it is intended to pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. An inspection will be arranged when the documents already requested have been furnished by the applicant.
