Vol. 333 No. 8

Written Answers. - Waterford New National School.

41.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the proposed new national school at Ballygunner, Waterford; and when building will commence.

It is proposed to build a new school at Ballygunner, Waterford, consisting of 16 classrooms, a general purposes room and ancillary accommodation. The school is to be built in two phases and sketch plans for the first phase of eight classrooms, a general purposes room and ancillary accommodation have recently been approved.

A grant will be sanctioned towards the cost of the school when satisfactory evidence of title to the site is submitted by the school authorities and agreement is reached regarding the amount of local contribution to be provided.

At this stage of planning it is not possible to say when construction work will commence.
