Vol. 333 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Donegal River Flooding.

588.

asked the Minister for Finance the proposals his Department have in hand to alleviate the flooding caused by the Owentocker river which flows through Ardara, County Donegal.

Drainage of the Owentocker river, County Donegal, could be undertaken by the Commissioners of Public Works only as part of a comprehensive drainage scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the catchment as a whole. The catchment is a small one and is not included in the priority lists. There are no plans at present to consider it for treatment under the Act.
