Notes:— (a) The Agreement on Pay in regard to the construction industry related general workers employed in the Public Service provides for increase in three phases of 5 per cent each for a period of 16 months. As the General Operatives and related grades listed at the Botanic Gardens, the Machine Attendant at the Butter Testing Station and the Labourer at the Wool Council are linked for pay purposes to general workers in the construction industry the first two phases of this Agreement are amalgamated to take effect from 1 January 1982. The terms of the Agreement on Pay in the Public Service, 1982 do not apply to these workers.

(b) The Assistant Foremen and Gardeners at the Botanic Gardens have pay parity with Supervisory Gardeners employed by Dublin Corporation. The Supervisory Gardeners concerned have not accepted the terms of the Public Service Pay Agreement, 1982, but are awaiting the outcome of a pay claim being processed by the Labour Court at present. In the circumstances it is not possible to state the revised rates of pay for the Gardeners and Assistant Foremen at the Botanic Gardens.

(c) Certain Labourer related grades enjoy a 10 per cent differential over the basic rate and therefore the first phase increase of the Public Service Pay Agreement 1982 is £4.40 per week.
