asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely to be possible to do so until the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be supplied for a person (details supplied) in Dublin.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects to complete the further engineering works in the Cockhill/Stamullen area of County Meath which is necessary for the connection of further telephones there; and if he will outline exactly the work that has to be caried out and when it will commence.

Necessary underground cabling and distribution work is expected to commence about the end of this year and to be completed about the middle of 1983.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects to carry out further engineering work, which involves underground cabling and which is necessary to enable further telephones to be connected in the Emmet Terrace area of Navan, County Meath; and the number of applications awaiting attention in the area.

Underground cabling work is in progress and is expected to be completed by about the end of this year. There are 14 waiting applicants in Emmet Terrace.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the cause of the very long delay in providing telephone service under the free telephone rental scheme for persons (details supplied) in County Kerry.

I am sorry that it has not been possible to meet this application yet because of the very extensive engineering work required to provide service. Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so for about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so until the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs his plans to complete further engineering work in the Longwood area of County Meath so that additional telephones can be connected; and the number of applications awaiting attention there.

Necessary engineering work will be carried out over the next year or so. There are 13 applications on hands and it is expected that these will have attention progressively over the next 12 to 18 months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects to carry out the further engineering works necessary to have telephone lines connected in the Loughcrew area of Oldcastle, County Meath; the nature of the works; and the number of applications awaiting attention in the area.

It is expected that the necessary engineering works, which include the provision of underground cabling and the conversion of Oldcastle exchange to automatic working, will be carried out within the next year. There are four waiting applicants with Loughcrew addresses.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin who is an invalid and who paid a deposit almost four months ago.

Within the next three weeks or so.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so before the end of this year.

Within the next two or three weeks. Delay in connection arose because of a cable fault which came to light at the installation stage.

It has not been possible to trace an application for the person named. An application in another name at the same address is expected to be met in 1983.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the necessary telephone transfer facilities will be provided for a firm (details supplied) in County Dublin; and if facilities can be provided as a matter of urgency and as one of priority having regard to the fact that substantial employment is at stake in this situation.

The firm has telephone service on one line. Additional lines will be provided within the next six weeks or so.

It is expected that service will be provided about the end of this year for this applicant who applied in July 1976.

I am sorry it has not been possible to provide service for the person named because of a shortage of engineering plant in the area and the large volume of work on hands and awaiting attention in the Dublin district. Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so for about a year.

It has not been possible to provide service for this applicant yet because of the linework required and the volume of engineering work on hands and awaiting attention in the Dublin district. It is expected that service will be supplied about the end of this year.
