asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs his Department's proposals for the erection of a public telephone kiosk in the vicinity of Ashton Wood, Killarney Road, Bray, County Wicklow.

The provision of a kiosk at this location is not regarded as warranted at present and it is not proposed therefore to provide one there.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the action he intends to take to enable the provision of additional telephones in the Porterstown area of Ratoath, County Meath, where there are approximately 20 applicants awaiting service.

It is expected that service will be provided for most of the applicants by the end of this year or early next year. The remaining applications will have attention progressively over the following 12 months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects to have the engineering work completed to enable additional telephones to be connected for people in the Pinebrook Estate at Trim, County Meath.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state in regard to the 045 exchange the number of applicants from County Wicklow awaiting service; and his proposals to meet the service of these applicants.

There are 225 waiting applicants in the 045 area of County Wicklow. It is expected that most of these will have attention during the second half of this year or early next year and the balance will have attention progressively over the following 12 months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will give a progress report on the ongoing improvements to meet the telephone requirements of Baltinglass exchange, County Wicklow; the number of people waiting for service; and the likely date by which service will be provided.

Work on the new automatic telephone exchange at Baltinglass is in progress. It is expected that the new exchange will be in service in about six months time. There are 35 waiting applications at Baltinglass. Most of these will have attention shortly after conversion to automatic working. The balance will have attention progressively over the following year or so.

The Department have no reason to believe that the subscriber has been overcharged on this occasion as the account has been checked and found correct.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so for about a year.

Service has been restored but it is not yet satisfactory. Normal service will be restored within a few days. A rebate of rental will be allowed for the period without service.

The earliest date by which service can be provided is about mid-1983.

Service has been restored on the telephone in the principal's residence. I understand that the telephone in the school has not been out of order.
