Vol. 334 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

498.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has an application from Dublin County Council for funds to provide the necessary sewerage facilities which are essential to service the primary school site at Deansrath, Clondalkin, County Dublin; and, if so, when finance will be provided for this purpose.

My Department conveyed approval to the proposed foul sewer extension at Deansrath on 19 October 1981. I have not, to date, received the relevant loan applications from Dublin County Council.

499.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in relation to the proposal to refund road restoration costs to group water supply schemes in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Road restoration costs are included in the overall cost of a private group water scheme for the purpose of assessing the relevant State grants — which cover between 66? per cent and 90 per cent of the total cost, depending on the location of the scheme, and subject to the maximum grants payable per house and per potential farm supply.

There are no proposals under consideration for changing the existing arrangements for the financing of road restoration costs.
