There are at present 259 people resident in the country who together with the members of their families forming part of their households enjoy diplomatic immunities as provided under the Vienna Convention of Diplomatic Relations.
In addition there are 28 service staff working in Embassies in Dublin who enjoy immunity under the Vienna Convention in respect of acts performed in the course of their duties.
