Vol. 336 No. 5

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

611.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the need for a public telephone kiosk in the new housing estate at Belmont Heights, Ferrybank, Waterford; if, in view of the rapidly growing population in this area, he will favourably consider establishing a service there; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of a telephone kiosk to serve the estate in question is not considered warranted at present. The position will be reviewed in the light of further development in the area.

612.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a telephone kiosk was not erected by his Department at Park Road, Dunmanway, County Cork.

There are two existing kiosks within about 600 yards of Park Road and provision of an additional kiosk at Park Road is not warranted at present.

613.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be erected at Moyclare Estate, Baldoyle, Dublin 13.

Because of the big number of kiosks included in the current programme it is likely that the proposed kiosk will not be provided until about the end of this year.
