asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dundalk, County Louth.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for completion of the work and the receipt in my Department of claim for payment of the grant was 30 June 1981. As these statutory requirements were not complied with in this case, the balance of the grant cannot now be paid.

865.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Ballinagh, County Cavan; and if he will arrange for immediate payment.

The delay in this case arises from the failure of the applicant to furnish a certificate from his inspector of taxes as evidence that neither he nor his wife had ever built or purchased a house previously. He was asked to furnish this certificate of the 12 March 1981, and again on the 30 April 1982, but it was only received in my Department on 20 May 1982. The grant will be paid shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a per-will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Fairhill, Cork.

A reconstruction grant will be paid shortly to the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Lucan, County Dublin.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case as the works do not come within the scope of the house improvement grants scheme.

868.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will take place and a new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

When my Department are notified that the house has been completed, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant, if in order.

869.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Skibbereen, County Cork; and whether payment will now be made.

There has been no delay by my Department in dealing with this case. The applicant should notify my Department when the house has been completed and is occupied. An inspection will then be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a £1,000 new house grant and £3,000 mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in Spiddal, County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application from the person named. However, representations have been received from the Deputy regarding certain aspects of the construction of a new house by this person. All necessary application forms have been issued to her and on receipt of the completed forms, my Department will be able to assess her eligibility for the new house grant and mortgage subsidy.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the application for a new house grant by a person (details supplied) in Craughwell, County Galway.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a grant in respect of reduction on oil dependence has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in Castlebar, County Mayo; and when it will be paid.

A house improvement grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 7 December, 1981.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a reconstruction grant under his Department's scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Claremorris, County Mayo.

A house improvement grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 17 June 1982.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in Ballina, County Mayo, is entitled to a reconstruction grant.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for completion of work and receipt, in the Department, of claims for payment was 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case, a grant cannot be paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Newcastle, County Galway.

The file is with the inspector for the investigation and report with a view to the allocation and payment of a grant, if in order.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether an application for a new house grant which was made by a person (details supplied) in Oranmore, County Galway has yet been approved.

A grant was approved on 29 September 1978.

877.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a £1,000 new house grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the reason for the delay in payment.

There has been some delay in dealing with a request for a final inspection. The file has been referred to the inspector for investigation and report with a view to the payment of a grant, if in order. An early inspection has been requested.

878.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant under the old scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Ballina, County Mayo.

The application in this case could not be brought to a conclusion because of the failure of the applicant to supply the county council with the necessary information to certify his income for the year ended 5 April 1975. Accordingly, the application was cancelled on 12 January 1979, and the applicant notified to this effect.

A statutory declaration giving details of the applicant's income was submitted to my Department on 2 June 1982. However, in view of the cancellation of the application, this could not be accepted. In any event, the latest date for claiming payment of grants under the old scheme was 31 January 1980. A grant cannot now be paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Schull, County Cork.

The grant was paid on the 17 June 1982.

880.

(Waterford) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who has applied for a house improvement grant has not yet had his house inspected for the purposes of the grant.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

881.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Athlone, County Westmeath; and when payment will be issued.

There has been no delay by my Department in dealing with this application. When my Department are notified that the work specified by the inspector on the 22 July 1980, has been completed and the applicant submits, as requested on 8 March 1982, evidence of occupation of the House, this case will be processed further.

882.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a back boiler grant to a person (details supplied) in Athlone, County Westmeath; and when payment will issue.

A solid fuel grant cannot be allowed in this case as the solid fuel works commenced within 12 months of the completion of the house. The applicant has been informed accordingly.

883.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason an inspection has not been carried out for a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in Tullaroan, County Kilkenny, as the application has been made for some time; and when this inspection will be carried out.

An inspection has not been carried out in this case as the person named did not submit the necessary documents and information with his application. When these are received in my Department, an inspection will be arranged.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Callan, County Kilkenny, as the application has been made for some time.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

885.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have an inspection carried out as a matter of urgency for a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in Coon, County Kilkenny, in view of the fact that all work has been completed and the application was made some time ago.

My Department had not been notified that the house had been completed and occupied by the person named. However, in view of the information given by the Deputy, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant if in order.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have an inspection carried out for a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow as all details have been forwarded to his Department.

When the person named submits the documents requested by my Department on the 23 July 1980, and returns his completed application form, an inspection will be arranged.

887.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a grant for house improvements will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Enniscorthy, County Wexford.

A house improvement grant under the current scheme cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work was commenced before an inspection was carried out. The applicant has been informed accordingly. The grants allocated under the previous scheme cannot be paid because notification of completion of work and a claim for payment were not received in the Department on or before 30 June 1981, as required under the Housing Regulations, 1980.
