Vol. 336 No. 5

Written Answers. - Reasonable Value Certificates.

901.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of difficulties being experienced by some residents of Griffith Court, Dublin 3, in relation to obtaining certificates of reasonable value for their houses; if he is aware that the owners of some of these houses obtained such certificates while others did not; and if he will ensure, in view of the injustice involved, that such certificates will be made available to all owners in Griffith Court.

I am aware that 19 applications for CRVs in respect of houses in Griffith Court, Dublin 3, were rejected in November 1980. This arose from the fact that these applications fell to be considered under section 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979, which prohibits the granting of a CRV where the sale of a house has been completed prior to the application for the CRV being made. As the sales had been completed in the case of these houses, the applications were rejected.
