I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment on 18 December 1981, but did not submit a claim for repayment of tax to the inspector of taxes until 25 March 1982. Additional information concerning the taxpayer's previous employments was required before the claim could be dealt with and those details were only recently received. The inspector has now certified a repayment in the amount of £177.20 and a cheque for that amount will reach the taxpayer shortly.
