Vol. 337 No. 4

Written Answers. - Devlin Committee.

546.

asked the Minister for Defence if his Department have yet established a management advisory committee in accordance with the recommendations of the Devlin Committee which were accepted by the Government in 1969; and if not, the reason.

The Public Services Organisation Review Group, the Devlin Committee, while not recommending the creation of a management advisory committee in my Department recommended that the Council of Defence should meet regularly. This council was established by the Defence Act, 1954, to aid and counsel the Minister on all matters in relation to the business of the Department on which the Minister may consult the council.
