The number of days spent on training by all officers in my Department in 1981 was 3,832. Arrangements for training are based on the perceived needs of each individual and the nature of his post. Accordingly, there is not a valid basis for calculation of an average participation figure per individual.
In the existing circumstances, I am satisfied with the present level of management and technical training in my Department. There is, however, always room for improvement and I will continue to seek ways to improve the position.
