Vol. 337 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Dublin Schools.

424.

asked the Minister for Finance when the disused pre-fabricated buildings at the girls national school, Palmerstown, County Dublin will be removed.

I am advised that the Commissioners of Public Works have not been requested by the Department of Education to report on the question of the removal of pre-fabricated classrooms at Palmerstown national school, County Dublin.

425.

asked the Minister for Finance whether an officer of the Office of Public Works will carry out an inspection of the extremely restricted site at St. Marnock's primary school, Portmarnock, County Dublin, to establish its suitability or otherwise for the building of a major extension.

The chairman of the board of management has commissioned an architect in private practice to prepare plans for the extension and alterations at St. Marnock's national school, Portmarnock, County Dublin.

It is a matter for the architect employed by the reverend chairman to prepare proposals on the basis of the brief provided by the Commissioners of Public Works.

When these proposals are received by the commissioners they will be carefully examined and, if necessary, an inspection of the school site made before they report to the Department of Education.
