A study has been carried out primarily by officers of the Department of the Public Service but with assistance from my Department as to the restructuring required to implement the aireacht concept in my Department. A report on the study is being drafted by the Department of the Public Service. It is necessary for me to await that report before any further action can be taken.

andMr. Keating asked the Minister for Justice if he will state in respect of commercial State bodies under his aegis, whether he has accepted recommendation number 11 of the Public Services Organisation Review Group (a) that the activities of the bodies should be broken down by sub-goals; (b) that where an activity is economic there should be a minimum of interference; and (c) that where a loss is involved, the position should be kept under review.
There are no commercial State bodies under the aegis of my Department.
