89.

90.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the result of the Government's proposals to the EEC Council of Ministers seeking the withdrawal of economic sanctions against Argentina.

91.

Mr. Treacy

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs how it is compatible with Ireland's declared policy of neutrality for the Government to participate in the European Community embargo on trade with Argentina in support of Britain's position in the Falkland Islands crisis.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 88, 89, 90, 91, together.

These questions relating to aspects of the Falkland Islands crisis have been on the Order Paper for a considerable time and have been superseded by events. I would therefore, refer the Deputies to the Government statements of 2 and 4 May and the Taoiseach's statements to Dáil Éireann on 11 and 18 May.
