asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the facts of the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8, he will arrange as a matter of urgency for the provision of a telephone connection; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It has not been possible in the time available to trace an application on behalf of the person named. If the Deputy can furnish additional information about the application, e.g. when and where the application was made, further efforts will be made to trace it.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who had an apparatus installed on December 1981, paid for it on 24 November 1981 and still has not been provided with a service.

When the person named was invited to sign an agreement and make advance payment it was expected that telephone service would be provided for him within about three months. Regrettably, this was not possible because of an unforeseen difficulty. It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.

It has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named because of the volume of engineering work on hands and awaiting attention in the Bandon area. It is expected that service will be provided within about six months.

The provision of a telephone kiosk at this location is not considered warranted at present. There is an existing kiosk within about a quarter mile at Bridge Street.

There are two existing telephone kiosks in Killinarden at present and there are no plans to provide additional kiosks.

There are some 15 waiting applications bearing Jobstown addresses. It is expected that service will be provided during 1983.

Terms are being quoted to the person named and service will be provided within about three months after the necessary agreement has been signed. It had been expected that the necessary engineering work would be completed earlier but this was not possible because of the need to divert staff to more urgent work requiring priority attention.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs how part of a telephone bill in respect of local calls was computed in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; if, in view of the fact that the subscriber kept a record of the number of calls made in respect of the period October/ December 1981 which shows the number of calls made to be about a quarter of the number for which she was billed, he will state how such anomalies have arisen; and if the subscriber will now be credited with the difference.

The subscriber queried the local and STD call charges in the October/ December 1981 account on the 28.10.81. A reply issued on the 7.11.81 and the account was paid on the 20.11.81. No further query was raised on this account.

It is expected that the necessary cabling to enable service to be provided to applicants in Rathfarnham Wood will be completed during 1983. Service will be provided for applicants as soon as possible after the cabling has been completed.
