Dáil Éireann díospóireacht -

Vol. 339 No. 2

Supplementary Estimates, 1982. - Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act (Continuance) Bill, 1982: Second and Subsequent Stages.

I move: "That the Bill be now read a Second Time."

Níl an tAire i láthair, agus eisean a bheith as láthair ba mhaith liom comhghairdeas a ghabháil leis an Aire——

In absentia.

——as ucht é bheith ceaptha mar Aire Trádála, Tráchtála agus Turasóireachta. Is dócha go mbeidh sé sa Teach in am eile ina mbeidh Bille á rith ag an Roinn sin. Níl anseo ach Bille chun onmhairithe a riarú agus is forálacha sealadacha atá i gceist. Tá súil agam i rith na bliana seo chugainn go mbeidh sé ar a chumas an Bille seasta agus na buanfhorálacha a chur os comhair an Tí ionas go mbeidh seans againn an obair a dhéanamh i gceart. Táim sásta go dtógfar na céimeanna go léir anois.

Question put and agreed to.
Agreed to take remaining Stages today.
Bill put through Committee, reported without amendment and passed.

I wonder what has happened to all the Ministers and Deputies on the far side of the House. Is it not strange that they do not seem to have an interest in what is happening here?

There must be a Christmas party somewhere.

The Chair has no control over that so long as there is a quorum in the House.

The Chair will note that Fianna Fáil are providing a quorum. Perhaps this is part of the new programme of Dáil reform.

The Chair has not been made aware of that.

I presume we need not take it that Deputy Cluskey has already resigned.

If the Leader of the Opposition is concerned about Deputy Cluskey's position or his intentions, I am sure he would be glad to communicate with him in person.

He is not here.
