No non-established civil servants were appointed by me or by my Minister of State on either a full or part time basis in the period up to 26 January 1983.
My predecessor appointed, as personal assistant, an officer seconded from his position of telephone superintendent in the Department of Posts and Telegraphs. During the period in question this officer was paid additional remuneration at the rate of £2,500 a year.

No such appointments have been made.
