One such temporary full-time appointment has been made on a contract basis. The information sought regarding the appointment is as follows:—
Name: Ms. Deirdre O'Brien.
Position (rank): Personal Secretary to the Minister for Social Welfare.
Terms and conditions of appointment: The appointment will terminate not later than the date on which the Government cease to hold office.
Salary: £146.86 per week plus temporary non-pensionable allowance of £11 per week.
Secondment: Ms. O'Brien is on secondment from her position as secretarial assistant under the Houses of the Oireachtas scheme for Dáil Deputies.
The previous Minister for Social Welfare appointed a Personal Secretary who was originally appointed in the public interest.
