931.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a farm development grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway for work in connection with the sinking of a well.

On receipt of notification from the applicant that work has been completed an inspection will be carried out with a view to certification of the work for payment of the grant.

932.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a farm modernisation scheme grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

No application for grant aid in respect of this work has been received in the Farm Development Service.

933.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of sheep headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named was paid his 1982 sheep headage grant under the Disadvantaged Areas Schemes on 19 January 1983 and the first instalment under the EEC Scheme of Premiums for Good Quality Ewes 1982-83 on 21 January-1983.

934.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of cattle headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

It is a condition of the 1982 Cattle Headage Scheme in the Disadvantaged Areas that the total off-farm income of an applicant and spouse must not exceed £5,415 for the income tax year ended 5 April 1982.

The person named was requested to forward details of his spouse's off-farm earnings for that period but has not done so. His application will be dealt with when he replies.

935.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a beef cattle incentive scheme grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The 1982 beef cow grant under the Disadvantaged Areas Schemes was applied for by the person named and another person. The application form which required a second signature, was returned duly completed by both applicants to the local office on Friday last. Payment will be made as soon as possible.

936.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when final headage payments for 1982 will be paid in County Clare; the number of cases where payments have not been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Out of a total of 7,024 applications in County Clare under the 1982 sheep, beef cow and cattle headage schemes in the Disadvantaged Areas, 5,792 have been paid to date and another 445 will be paid shortly. The remaining 787 applications are under query and payment depends on how soon and how satisfactorily the applicants reply to the queries raised.
