As you will be aware the parish of Moycullen is in the Gaeltacht and for purposes of school transport forms part of the Spiddal/Inverin catchment area. The Department provide transport for eligible pupils to these centres. Limited transport facilities are also available as an exceptional arrangement to Galway city centre for students from the Moycullen parish area.
A proposal to allow transport from Moycullen to Galway was the subject of recent local meetings. Pending a final decision in the matter no special change in the present position is contemplated. I shall let the Deputy know the outcome in due course.
