To qualify for free telephone rental allowance under the scheme administered by my Department for veterans of the War of Independence an eligible person must be a registered telephone subscriber and satisfy certain other conditions. The concession will be granted to the person referred to in the Deputy's question as soon as he becomes a registered telephone subscriber and continues to satisfy the other conditions.
