Assuming that the Deputy's question does not relate to appointments made through the normal recruitment machinery or to promotions in the normal course there was one such appointment, viz., Miss Suzanne O'Brien, who is employed on a full-time basis as a personal secretary to the Minister for Defence. Her present rate of remuneration is £114.13 per week. Miss O'Brien is on secondment from the Houses of the Oireachtas and her present appointment will terminate not later than the date on which the Government cease to hold office.
