Vol. 339 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Donegal Land Purchase.

480.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when the purchase of land (details supplied) by his Department will be completed and payment made to the persons concerned in County Donegal.

Following is the position in regard to the three properties referred to: No. 1—Price agreement has been reached for some time with the land-owner concerned. Title documents in respect of the property are awaited with a view to completing the transaction and payment of purchase money; No. 2—These lands are merely at the inspection stage and it is still too early to say whether purchase negotiations will ensue; No. 3—Whilst agreement on price has been reached in respect of this property since mid-1980, certain title difficulties affecting the vendor have prevented finalisation of the matter to date. However, it is understood that these difficulties have been resolved and the Department have been in recent contact with the vendor with a view to clearing the way for closure of the sale.
