asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in making Killorglin telephone exchange, County Kerry, automatic and the reason all the technicians working on it were recently transferred to Limerick.

It is expected that Killorglin telephone exchange will be converted to automatic working on 9 March 1983. It had been hoped to effect the change-over in late 1982 but it did not prove possible to meet that forecast partly because of unavoidable delay in completing a related transmission system in Tralee and also because of the heavy overall work load in the Kerry area.

None of the staff who have any remaining involvement with the Killorglin project has been transferred to Limerick or to any other location.
