Vol. 340 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

220.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin.

This grant will be paid shortly.

221.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when payment will be made.

Any delay in this case arose from the failure of the applicant to fully document his application. A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

My Department's inspector called recently but could not gain admittance to the house.

222.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 special category grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and the reason payment has been delayed for several months.

The new house grant of £1,000 cannot be paid, in this case, as the person named has purchased a second hand house.

However, a certificate of provisional approval to a special 3-year mortgage subsidy has been issued and the first instalment of the subsidy will be paid when the person named submits the claim form duly completed and certified by the lending agency. Any delay in this case arises from the failure of the applicant to submit the correct application form in the first instance, and, later, a fully completed form.

223.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a grant for water installation to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the grant has been approved.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

224.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a house improvement grant and a conversion to solid fuel grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

In the absence of the applicant's full name, it has not been possible to trace any record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant in this case.

225.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a house improvement grant under the new scheme paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work has been finished for some time.

As the additional accommodation provided is not being used as a bedroom, a house improvement grant is not payable in this case. The applicant has been so informed.

226.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work has been completed for some time.

The grant was paid on the 15 December 1982.

227.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow as the work has been completed for some time.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out shortly.

228.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid to the person named on the 8 February 1983.

229.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

230.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a final inspection for a £1,000 new house grant will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

When the person named supplies the documents and certified form S.L. 4 (Tax Certificate) in respect of his wife, as requested by my Department, an inspection will be arranged with a view to approval and payment of a grant, if in order.
