asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath as he has been waiting for service for some years and now requires it urgently.

It is expected that service will be provided during the latter part of this year.

258.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants waiting for telephone service in the Brittas area of County Dublin; and when service will be provided for them.

There are some 55 applicants awaiting telephone service in the Brittas area.

It is expected that the bulk of the waiting applications will be met within about a year and the remainder will be dealt with progressively over the following six months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk at Brittas, County Dublin, will be repaired.

The kiosk was restored to service on 14 February 1983.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a suitable telephone service is not being provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 who has paid his deposit.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in providing a telephone service for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin as the application was made three years ago.

It has not been possible to provide service for the person named so far because of the large volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the 01 area.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a telephone service will now be transferred for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 having regard to the fact that it was promised that the transfer would be completed by the end of 1982.

Telephone service will be transferred for the person named as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year. It had been expected that necessary engineering work to enable service to be provided would be completed earlier. Regrettably this was not possible because of the need to divert staff to more urgent work requiring priority attention.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a firm (details supplied) in County Dublin.

The firm named have telephone service. Additional lines will be provided within about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if additional telephone lines will be provided for an hotel (details supplied) in County Dublin as a matter of urgency as this hotel has only one telephone line and cannot continue to carry on business without such lines being made available to it.

Terms are being quoted for one additional line and the service will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary agreement has been signed. Further additional lines will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed for about a year.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide service for the person named. The applicant will be contacted as soon as the result of the survey is known.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 as his telephone has been out of order for a very considerable length of time.

Service will be restored within a week or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; and if the provision of service will be expedited having regard to the fact that the fee was paid to his Department over four months ago and that the applicant is in urgent need of a telephone service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if inquiries have been made into complaints by a person (details supplied) in County Dublin regarding his telephone bill; and if he will now arrange to have an amicable settlement made with the subscriber.

The complaint was investigated and the account as issued was found to be correct. The question of a settlement with the subscriber does not therefore arise.
