: There are two grants involved, a farm building grant approved in 1977 and a land reclamation grant approved in 1979. In neither case has the local office of the Farm Development Service been notified by the applicant that the work has been completed. When notification is received an inspection will be carried out and, if the work is satisfactorily completed, the grants will be paid without delay. In the case of the farm building, the grant is payable only if the building is completed and the Farm Development Service are notified to that effect by 30 June, 1983.

: The grant will be paid when normal processing procedures have been completed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Longford.
: The person named has been informed that he must comply with certain conditions to become registered owner of the herd number under which he applied for cattle headage grants under the 1982 disadvantaged areas schemes. If and when he complies with those conditions payment of grants will be considered.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the present position in regard to an application for a farm modernisation scheme grant for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if he is aware that the application was made in May 1982, that the ACOT adviser consulted with him at the end of 1982, and that all documents were received, signed and stamped, prior to the budget announcement on the suspension of the grants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
: An application for grant aid was received in this case by the Farm Development Service on 26 January 1983. As announced in the budget, grants under the farm modernisation scheme for buildings and fixed assets have been suspended until later in the year. As approval had not issued in this case before the suspension came into effect on 10 February 1983, the application cannot be processed further.
