Vol. 341 No. 10

Order of Business .

: It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 2, 7 and 8. Private Members' Business will be No. 14 (Resumed).

: On the Order of Business, there is the question of closure of business at 6.30 p.m. I raised this matter on Second Stage——

: That would more properly arise on No. 2 on the Order of Business. There is an allocation of time motion on the Order Paper.

: The Minister for Industry and Energy said yesterday afternoon that he would inform the House of developments with regard to the closure at Telectron. While I am pleased to note there has been some progress with regard to postponement of the closure, perhaps the Minister would inform the House of the position.

: I said yesterday that arrangements would be made through the Whips for my reporting on the matter to the House. I think the House will appreciate that the Order of Business is not the time for imparting such information. I suggested to the Deputy that if he wished to have a report of the matter it could be raised through the Whips. I understand that to date it has not been raised through the Whips.

: On the Order of Business, I wish to ask the Taoiseach if he intends to make a statement concerning the withdrawal of the Private Members' motion on Central America from yesterday's Order Paper.

: The Deputy is anticipating a debate that will take place on Item No. 14 later today.
