asked the Minister for the Environment the number of planning inspectors employed by An Bord Pleanála in each year since the commencement of its operations, and the number of appeals before the board and dealt with in the same period.
Written Answers. - Planning Inspectors.
On 15 March 1977, An Bord Pleanála assumed responsibility for dealing with appeals, references and certain other matters arising under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts, 1963 and 1976. Under interim staffing arrangements, provided for in section 21 (3) of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976, the full-time services of professional, administrative, executive and clerical staff are made available to the board by my Department. As the information sought in relation to staff numbers and appeals is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose to circulate it with the Official Report.
