asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange to waive a telephone account which was issued to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 for a period during which the telephone was out of order.

The metered call units on the bill in question were correctly charged for but a rebate of rental will be allowed for the period the telephone was out of order.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will clarify the telephone account of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 who was absent on holidays for much of the billing period and who did not therefore incur the bill issued to him.

The charge in this case has been rechecked and was found to be correct.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when Castleshane exchange, County Monaghan, will be converted to automatic working.

In the first half of next year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Terms have been quoted to the person named and service will be provided within about three months after the necessary agreement has been signed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone service of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin will be restored.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone account of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin will be investigated.

The charges in this case have been investigated and were found to be correct.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the position regarding the provision of a sub-post office for the Springfield area of Tallaght, County Dublin; and when this urgently needed office will be provided.

I recently sanctioned the appointment of a postmaster for the Springfield and adjoining areas of Tallaght. I expect that the person appointed will take up duty shortly.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a public telephone kiosk was not provided at Tiermoyle, Cahirciveen, County Kerry.

The kiosk at Tiermoyle, Cahirciveen, has not been provided due to a temporary shortage of kiosk structures. It is expected that the kiosk will be provided in the fourth quarter of 1983.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reasons for the delay in installing a telephone for a general practitioner (details supplied) in Dublin in view of the importance of service for him; and when a telephone will be installed.

It has not been possible to provide telephone service for the person named so far because of a shortage of engineering plant to serve the address. It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.
