I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the figure shown on the certificate of interest in respect of a loan taken out by the taxpayer on 2 April 1982 for the three-day period up to 5 April 1982, appeared excessive. The taxpayer, despite an exchange of correspondence with the inspector of taxes and a discussion at the tax office on 23 April 1982 has failed to clarify the position satisfactorily.
