asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the number of advance factories at present unoccupied in the Killarney industrial estate at Ballyspillane, County Kerry; the total floor area of each; and the steps he is taking to have them occupied with the maximum labour content in view of the fact that there are up to 900 persons now registered as unemployed at Killarney exchange.

I am informed that the Industrial Development Authority has a 24,000 sq. ft. advance factory and three small industry units of 3,000 sq. ft. each available for industry at the industrial estate at Ballyspillane, Killarney, Co. Kerry. The IDA is also in negotiation with Killarney Electronics to secure an early start up of their project in a 24,000 sq. ft. specil factory constructed on this estate.
In addition the IDA has a futher 11 acres of land available on the estate and is providing a futher 26,000 sq. ft. advance factory through an arrangement with a private developer.
These facilities are being actively promoted by the IDA for suitable industrial projects.
