The development of the proposals for the new bridge, Mallow Street Bridge, is primarily a matter for the road authority, Limerick Corporation.
In January 1983, planning design proposals for the bridge were approved by my Department. I understand from the corporation that contract documents are being prepared at present and that they expect to be in a position to commence work next year. Accurate estimates of the labour content are not available in the Department at this stage.
