I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that there is no repayment due to the taxpayer as there are substantial arrears of tax in the case for earlier years. The taxpayer's agents were notified of the position on 3 June 1983.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayers' liability for the year 1982-83 has been reviewed by the inspector of taxes and a cheque for the refund due will be issued shortly. A certificate of tax-free allowances issued by the inspector in the case was not received by the employer.
