asked the Minister for Education if she is now in a position to approve the plans for the new national school at Killeigh, County Offaly, in view of the decision of the parents association to withdraw the 218 pupils from the school as on and from Monday, 24 October, 1983; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are completing their examination of sketch-plans furnished by the Commissioners of Public Works for the proposed new national school at Killeigh, County Offaly, and expect to be in a position to indicate their acceptance of the plans, subject to minor modifications, at an early date. My Department will be communicating shortly with the chairman of the board of management regarding questions of grant and title to the site of the proposed new school.
