Vol. 345 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Donegal House Grant and Mortgage Subsidy.

245.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A new house grant cannot be paid to the person named until an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. When my Department's inspector inspected the house in July 1983 a list of outstanding works, which must be completed before a grant can be paid, was issued to the applicant. To date no notification that these works have been completed has been received.

The date of execution of the mortgage deed was also requested from the applicant on 27 July 1983 but to date it has not been received. It is not possible to give a decision on this application for mortgage subsidy in the circumstances.
