There has been no delay in paying grants in respect of certified work on the Ballinakill/Moyard group water scheme. Grants totalling £94,200 have been allocated to the scheme in respect of 111 houses and 69 farms and grants totalling £50,250 — the entire amount certified by the Department's inspector to date — have been paid to the group.

A grant cannot be paid in this case until the defect, which was first notified to the applicant in July 1982, has been remedied. A certificate of approval to the subsidy was issued to the person named on 20 April 1981.

The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for report on the applicant's eligibility for the grant. On receipt of this report the matter will be finalised as quickly as possible.
