The VAT repayment claim from the person concerned was received by the collector-general on 10 October 1983, and was referred to the inspector of taxes for audit.
As soon as the claim is certified by the inspector, repayment as appropriate will be made without delay.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's liability for the year 1982-83 was reviewed by the inspector of taxes on 25 October 1983, and an overpayment arose. A cheque in settlement will be issued at an early date.
