There is no prohibition on the appointment to commissioned rank in the Defence Forces of persons residing in local authority houses. Under Defence Force Regulations single officers are normally required to occupy public quarters. The regulations contain no provision which prohibits officer of the Defence Forces from residing in local authority houses.
