Vol. 345 No. 8

Written Answers - Ordnance Survey Office Personnel.

317.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the grave dissatisfaction and unrest prevailing among certain members of the staff at the Ordnance Survey Office, Phoenix Park, Dublin; and whether he will intervene directly with a view to restoring normal and necessary tranquil relationships between staff and management.

Responsibility for management of the Ordance Survey rests primarily with the Director of Ordnance Survey who has, in accordance with agreed procedures for consultation between management and staff, arranged to invite the views of staff representatives on the matter said to be a cause of dissatisfaction among some members of the staff. In the circumstances intervention by me would not be appropriate.
