asked the Minister for Health if restrictions have been placed on doctors in the GMS scheme concerning the treatment of or prescribing for children, whose parents have a medical card; if so, what these restrictions are; and when he proposes to lift them.

No restrictions of any kind have been placed on doctors in the GMS either in relation to the treatment they afford to any individual patient whether adult or child, or the medicines they prescribe.
Certain medicines are no longer provided free of charge to patients, mainly the non-prescription or over-the-counter preparations, although arrangements have been made to meet the occasional situation where patients might not be in a position to pay for these.
